How to create interesting packaging shots that communicate your brand values - with Doisy and Dam
London food photographer for vegan chocolate brand Doisy and Dam.
A 90 minute spotlight shoot at my home studio in London to capture some creative product and packaging shots for the colourful range of Doisy & Dam chocolate.
I worked across two key set ups, supplying a contact sheet of imagery for the client to select their 20 favourites and used a selection of props and backgrounds from my own collection.

I love the spotlight shoots and this one with Liv at Doisy & Dam back in December 2021 was no exception. Not only because the chocolates are delicious, but also because of the vibrant, colourful packaging that looks so beautiful on the other side of the lens.
This vibrancy was the focus of the shoot, with the brief being to create colourful and engaging imagery that told more of a story than a digital render of the products. Liv also requested use of plants in the imagery to reflect the natural, plant-based ingredients that are a real selling point for Doisy & Dam, so I opted for a few sprigs of eucalyptus to give that soft hue of green. I love the way the blurred plants add another dimension to the image, almost as though you’re peering through the branches to find the chocolatey treasure.
I also played around with a couple of lifestyle setups to continue to tell a story and to indicate ways in which their chocolate can be enjoyed. Who doesn’t want a nut butter cup at their desk!?
I opted for natural light throughout the shoot, again to play into the natural aspect of the brief and I love the soft shadows that were created as a result.
This was another really fun shoot, made even better with the chance to dig into the chocolate afterwards!
