Here’s how it works:

the call.

We’ll kick off with a call to establish some clear goals for the shoot. We’ll discuss how you want to use the images as well as how you want people to feel when they see them and use these answers to inform the style, colour and composition choices for the shoot. Once you’re happy I’ll supply a personalised mood board and finalised shot list to be approved before we begin. 

the prep.

I want to make this process as easy for you as possible.

You don’t need to worry about getting a team of stylists together, or frantically searching for props and backgrounds. Not only will I do all of this for you, it will also be included in the fee, so you don’t need to worry about budgeting for extra costs.

the shoot.

Then we get to work on the shoot!

Over the course of 2 days, myself and a food stylist will create and capture all the images on the shot list, working in a dedicated food photography studio to help speed the process along. You’re welcome to join us to oversee the shoot and voice your ideas and feedback throughout. You could even bring your social media manager along to capture some great behind the scenes content too. Win win!

the assets.

After the shoot, I’ll start on the post-production, editing the images and retouching where necessary. Everything captured from the shoot will be optimised for multiple use, including digital ready files, 9:16 crops (perfect for Reels, TikTok and Instagram stories), and print ready files, so you aren’t limited to one platform only.

the usage.

You’ll also be granted an extended usage license for everything captured during the shoot. This means you have the freedom to use the images across multiple different platforms, without having to worry about additional fees.

The license will grant you exclusive, global, unlimited, in perpetuity usage across the following media: all digital media - including website, social media and paid advertising - and selected print media - including mail inserts, brochures, flyers, marketing aids, point of sale, trade show and / or event materials and PR.

This is usually charged on an image by image basis, so it’s a huge upfront saving (and weight off your mind!)

FAQs.

Are there any extra costs involved that I need to budget for?

Nope, everything is included, from pre & post production to food stylist and studio fees.

Do you offer any payment plans?

I take a 50% deposit to secure the booking and the remaining 50% is due once the shoot is complete (at least 4 weeks later). If you’d like to discuss a longer term payment plan please get in touch here and we can chat.

What’s the difference between this and the full day package?

The full day package is just a one day shoot, captured remotely in my home studio with optional additional costs depending on what you need. It’s an entry-level option designed for smaller brands who are looking to build brand awareness with a selection of digital only assets.

In comparison, this all inclusive package is a multi-day shoot with a dedicated food stylist, studio space and prop selection all included in the fee. You get a whole load more assets with a whole load more freedom.

What does ‘usage’ or ‘image licensing’ mean?

The entire copyright and ownership of the images will always be retained by the photographer. An image license is then created to allow the client the rights to use the images for an agreed media format, territory and period of time. Very similar to the way music is licensed for use in TV. In the case of my work, digital use is always included in the creative fee and any additional uses, such as print, advertorial, editorial or OOH will incur an additional fee.

How many photos will I get and where can I use them?

The number of photos you get is totally dependent on the brief and style of imagery I’ll be creating, however there is no image limit per shoot; everything I capture will be supplied. You can use them across all digital media - including website, social media and paid advertising - and selected print media - including mail inserts, brochures, flyers, marketing aids, point of sale, trade show and / or event materials and PR. All included in the fee.

What happens if I don’t like the photos?

Images cannot be rejected on basis of style, composition or preference, as long as they have been shot in accordance with the brief. If for whatever reason the brief has not been followed, you would be entitled to a reshoot and if necessary, a fee would be agreed by us both.

The written brief and planning call are both thorough styling discussions to ensure this doesn’t happen and this has never happened with a client before.

Why do I need a food stylist?

A food stylist helps me capture more assets in less time. They’re also on hand to prepare and style all of the food so every plate is looking it’s best, and work very well as hand models too! Working collaboratively in this way will help bring your food to life and create beautiful shots that will make your customers hungry!

What do you do with all the food?

I aim to ensure as little food waste goes to landfill as possible on every one of my shoots. All of the food that can be eaten is shared between the team on the shoot, myself and my husband, my neighbours, and wider family. Larger meals and leftover products are donated to a local homelessness and rehousing centre where I volunteer every week. Anything that cannot be eaten is composted and used as food for the flowers!
